Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya Pahalgaon commemorated Krishna Janmashtami on August 16, 2025, with a vibrant celebration involving students, staff, and parents. A total of 213 students, ranging from Balvatika-I (pre-primary) to Class X, participated in the festivities. They were joined by 16 members of the teaching staff, 5 non-teaching staff members, and 26 parents, creating a lively and inclusive atmosphere. The event commenced with a traditional invocation, beginning with the chanting of three "Omkaras," followed by a Shanti Path, a prayer for peace and harmony. The serene atmosphere was further enhanced by the melodious singing of Krishna bhajans (devotional songs), accompanied by the customary arti, a ritual of offering light to the deity. Following the musical offerings, Ankita Didi delivered an insightful speech, elucidating the significance and historical context of Krishna Janmashtami, emphasizing the values and teachings associated with Lord Krishna's birth. The program continued to unfold with the recitation of the Shanti Mantra, reinforcing the theme of peace and tranquility. A highlight of the celebration was the fancy dress competition organized for the younger students, specifically those from Balvatika-I to Class II.
This competition saw enthusiastic participation from 17 students, who showcased their creativity and talent by dressing up as various characters related to Lord Krishna and his stories. The costumes ranged from depictions of Lord Krishna himself, to his divine consort Radha, to other figures from the rich mythology surrounding him, such as gopis (milkmaids) and cowherds. The competition added a playful and engaging element to the festivities, allowing the children to express their understanding of the occasion in a vibrant and imaginative way. The judges faced a challenging task in selecting the winners, given the impressive display of creativity and enthusiasm. The event concluded with the distribution of prasad (blessed food) to all attendees, symbolizing the shared joy and blessings of the occasion. The celebration of Krishna Janmashtami at Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya Pahalgaon served as a platform to promote cultural understanding and spiritual awareness among the students, while also fostering a sense of community and togetherness. The event successfully combined traditional rituals with engaging activities, creating a memorable experience for everyone involved.
