The significant birth anniversaries of two revered national leaders, Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, were respectfully commemorated on the auspicious date of October 2, 2025. The commemorative events took place at the distinguished Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, situated in the serene locality of Pahalgaon. This institution, known for its commitment to holistic education, meticulously organized a series of activities to honor the legacies of these great personalities. A central feature of the day's observances was a meticulously planned peace rally, which garnered enthusiastic and widespread participation from the entire school community.
A total of 308 students, representing various age groups and academic levels within the school, actively joined the rally, demonstrating their understanding and appreciation for the principles of peace and non-violence championed by Mahatma Gandhi. Furthermore, the rally saw the dedicated involvement of all 26 teaching and non-teaching staff members, who marched alongside the students, reinforcing the collective spirit of the event and their commitment to the school's values. The collective participation underscored the unity and shared purpose within the Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya community in honoring these national heroes.
Following the conclusion of the impactful peace rally, the formal program commenced with a series of traditional and solemn rituals designed to invoke a sense of peace and spiritual reflection. The proceedings began with the recitation of three Omkar chants, a sacred sound believed to purify the environment and focus the mind. This was immediately followed by a Shanti Path, a prayer for peace and harmony, further setting a contemplative and respectful tone for the day's events. Subsequently, the program transitioned to a cultural segment, where talented students from Class 10 took to the stage to perform two deeply moving patriotic songs. Their renditions were filled with fervor and national pride, resonating with the audience and evoking a sense of shared patriotism. The musical performances were then followed by an oratorical presentation. Arush Biswas, a bright student from Class 6, delivered a thoughtful and well-prepared speech, articulating his understanding of the significance of the day and the contributions of the celebrated leaders. His address was met with appreciation from the attendees. Following Arush's speech, the audience was privileged to hear a highly inspiring and motivational address delivered by Miss A. Anuja didi. Her words were carefully chosen to uplift and encourage the students, emphasizing the enduring relevance of Gandhi's and Shastri's ideals in contemporary society. Her speech served as a powerful reminder of the values of truth, integrity, and selfless service.
Later in the day, a brief but impactful "Safai Abhiyan" which translates to a cleanliness drive, was meticulously organized and conducted. This initiative was a practical demonstration of the principles of cleanliness and community service, echoing Mahatma Gandhi's emphasis on hygiene and sanitation. During this drive, students diligently and enthusiastically participated in tidying the school premises. Armed with broomsticks, they meticulously swept and cleaned various areas of the school grounds, demonstrating a commendable sense of responsibility and collective effort towards maintaining a clean and healthy environment. This hands-on activity not only contributed to the aesthetic appeal of the school but also instilled in the students a sense of ownership and pride in their surroundings. The day's commemorative activities, filled with reflection, inspiration, and practical action, concluded on a sweet note with the distribution of sweets to all participants. This gesture served as a pleasant culmination to a day dedicated to honoring the profound legacies of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, leaving everyone with a sense of fulfillment and renewed commitment to their ideals.
